John is a 5th year PolSci/International Studies student at the University of Melbourne. He is Immediate Past President of the Melbourne University Liberal Club, where he served two terms as President from 2009-2010. In 2009, John ran the successful Synergy campaign that ended years of left-wing rule at the University of Melbourne Student Union. His main policy interests include schools education, planning, foreign policy, Arab-Israeli relations and defending freedom of association on campus. In his spare time John enjoys reading and playing cricket.

Christian Street

Christian is studying Economics and Laws at the University of Tasmania where he is the President of the University of Tasmania Liberal Students Society. Christian has policy interests in many areas including economic reform and especially likes freedom. Outside of politics, Christian enjoys spending time with friends, has an avid interest in theatre and likes to think he can cook up a storm in the kitchen, taking his cues from Jamie Oliver.

Joe Callingham

Joe is studying a Bachelor of Science (Advanced), with a double major in Physics and Mathematics, at the University of Sydney. He is Vice-President of Policy for the Sydney University Liberal Club and just completed his term as ALSF NSW Representative. He is a strong supporter of VSU, small government and individual freedom. His particular policy interestsare the role of science in industry, energy production and defence. When Joe is not being highly productive, he can be found playing Rugby League, at the gym, enjoying a beer or generally creating fun with friends.

Ben Kunstler

Ben is a 5th year Arts (Hons)/Law student at Monash University where he is the Immediate Past President of the Monash University Liberal Club after serving consecutive terms as President in 2009 and 2010.  Ben is also serving a second consecutive term as Chairman of the Victorian Liberal Students' Association.  His policy interests include health, education, foreign affairs and industrial relations. In his spare time, Ben enjoys playing tennis poorly, snowboarding and the occasional game of poker with his mates.

Christopher Whittaker

Chris is a Finance/Law Honours research student at the University of Wollongong. He is the Immediate Past President of the University of Wollongong Liberal Club having served two terms as Club President. During his time as President, Chris ran the enormously successful FRESH campus election campaign which resulted in campus Liberals taking control of the student association, all student positions on the Academic Senate, campus service provider and University Council. Chris currently serves on the University Council, the highest governing body of the University where he fights against the re-introduction of compulsory union fees.

 

Publications Officer

Lauren Callahan

Lauren Callahan is a 3rd year Arts/Law student at the Australian National University. Lauren has served on the ANU Liberal Club’s executive as Secretary, Social Officer and as a General Representative. Lauren is passionate about capitalism, the right of students to choose whether or not their money goes toward socialist rallies and believes in the importance of politics at the grassroots level. In her spare time she enjoys shopping, cocktails, and watching question time.
