ALSF welcomes Abbott as leader

The Australian Liberal Students Federation (ALSF) has today welcomed the new Liberal Party leader Tony Abbott.

 “Tony Abbott has the right combination of experience, thoughtfulness, and clarity of belief to lead the Liberal Party to victory at the next election,” ALSF President Alex Butterworth said today.

“The ALSF looks forward to joining Tony Abbott in holding Labor to account and outlining a vision for Australia’s future.”

“Liberal Students Australia-wide are already out in the community and on the campaign hustings, spreading the message about Labor’s debt, deficit and economic mismanagement,” said Mr Butterworth.

The ALSF also welcomed the party room decision to defer a vote on the ETS but called on the Parliamentary Liberal Party to go further, and reject an ETS entirely.
