New Executive Elected

The recent Federal Council of the Australian Liberal Students’ Federation saw a new Executive elected on Friday July 10.

Alex Butterworth became the first student from Western Australia to be elected President of the Federation since 2002.  Previously, Mr Butterworth served as the Federation’s Secretary in 2008-09, and as Policy Director in 2007-08.

“The ALSF will remain a force for freedom on university campuses across Australia.

“The Federation will continue to be active in its support of free markets, a deregulated tertiary education sector and of course, the retention of voluntary student unionism”, Mr Butterworth said after his election.

The new executive was drawn from the states of Victoria, New South Wales, Western Australia, South Australia and the Australian Capital Territory.

The 2009-10 ALSF Executive is:

President:  Alex Butterworth

Vice President: Sasha Uher

Secretary:  Rob Langdon

Treasurer:  Duncan McDonald

Policy Director:  Mark Joyce

Publications Officer:  Clinton Markwell

 

 

Federal Council 2010 will be held in Perth, Western Australia from July 5-9.
